DEPOK, July 4, 2025 — A warm and grateful atmosphere enveloped SEBI Hall this morning, Wednesday, July 2, 2025. Members of the Foundation Board, academic community, students, strategic partners, and community leaders gathered for a special thanksgiving event marking the official transition of STEI SEBI into the SEBI Islamic Institute.

This historic moment is the result of a long journey and unwavering dedication. The transformation marks a significant milestone in SEBI's efforts to continue contributing to Islamic education in Indonesia. As a reflection of deep gratitude, the thanksgiving event included inspiring speeches, a ceremonial cutting of the tumpeng (traditional rice cone), and a solemn group prayer.

Mr. H. Saarih, a community leader from Kampung Pondok Rangga, Bojongsari District, also attended. With heartfelt emotion, he expressed his sincere hope that SEBI's elevation to institute status would expand its reach and produce more individuals who contribute positively to society. His prayers conveyed aspirations for SEBI's advancement and the emergence of a new generation beneficial to the community.

The Rector of SEBI Islamic Institute, Mr. Sigit Pramono, Ph.D., CA., CPA., expressed profound appreciation to all involved, particularly the academic team. "Our collective hard work, especially from the academic side, has been key to this transformation. Thank you for your commitment," he stated.

Echoing this sentiment, the Vice Chairman of the Bina Tsaqafah Foundation, Drs. Sudarso, M.Si., emphasized the importance of maintaining the "spirit and values" of the Islamic higher education institution after achieving institute status. Ir. Suwondo, Secretary of the Foundation Board, also stressed that this change is not merely about the number of graduates. "As an institute, we must ensure not only output but also outcome—real impact from our graduates on society," he asserted.

The highlight of the thanksgiving event was marked by the cutting of the tumpeng, symbolizing togetherness and profound gratitude, followed by all invited guests. A collective prayer led by Ustadz Lutfi Zulkarnain, S.Ag., M.E.Sy., sought blessings and success for the new journey of SEBI Islamic Institute.
